Rights of the Child

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child has 54 articles that apply to all children around the world.

The ones that we specifically focus on in Nursery are:

• The right to a name (article 7).

• The right to healthy food, water and health care (article 24).

• The right to play (article 31).

• The right to be safe (article 19).

• The right to an education (articles 28 and 29).

• The right to express themselves and their thoughts and feelings (articles 12 and 13).

• The right to a home (article 27).

• The right to be looked after (articles 9 and 18).

• The right for every child to have the same rights (articles 1 and 2).
